Dog pics

Lance asleep on the way to Kelly and Todd's house. Thea fell in love with Lance and followed him around constantly. Then she mourned a little when he left.

Baily at the beach.

Heather says Lance's new haircut makes him look ugly.

But it's better than Baily's cone.

Dogs love the ball flinger.

Where can we get Thea a potty piñata?

Liam loves the Baby Bjorn

Babies are supposed to enjoy being carried slings, but Liam has never liked it. Maybe it felt too confining or something. But he LOVES the baby bjorn. So much so that, when I'm carrying him in my arms, he twists around so he can face outward.

Here he is getting ready to join the foreign legion.

Today Thea is officially two and a half today

We celebrated by taking her to the doctor. "Not nice!" as she would say. I think she's freaked out by white coats now, because a couple weeks ago we had to take her to have her blood drawn for a lead test. It's kind of shocking how much blood they have to take.

(The test came back fine, by the way. Of course. Our house may be over 100 years old, but it had god-awful wallpaper on all the walls. So, no lead paint. And as a bonus, it chased away a lot of prospective buyers, so we could afford it. Win-win.)

Anyway, here's a picture that typifies the two-and-a-half-year-old experience.

She passed out on the floor, exhausted after an hour-long screaming tantrum that was sparked, I think, because her dad and I were unable to alter the time-space continuum.

In real life, Liam is a very smiley boy

Liam laughs and smiles constantly. He never cries unless something is wrong; he's always squealing and waving his fists around, then breaking up in peals of laughter. Or, more correctly, I should say he guffaws. It's really cute. So why does he always look like this when the camera comes out?

Thea and one of her best friends, Lila

Here are some pictures from back in April when Sue and Don watched the kids. Their daughter, Lila, is about six months older than Thea, and is a total peach. People are always asking if they are twins, which, of course, amuses me to no end.

Their pajamas are rather similar, aren't they? Another funny thing about The Girls (as we often call them, like they're a matched set): often when we see Lila, she and Thea are dressed alike.

Thea has a very "Heather" pose here. Rock on, Thea.

They're big on making funny faces.

As with her aunt, girls can't help but throw themselves at Thea. Cute!

Next time I'll post a bunch of Liam pictures.

What's going on here?

Here's one of my favorite ones from February. Liam is about 3 months old, and Thea is just over 2.

Doesn't she look like the Unibomber? And doesn't he look so weird? This picture makes me laugh.

Kid Pics

Fresh kid pics! Here as often as I can take and post them. Which really should be more often. Hence the blog.

Here's Liam (in soft focus) from April 2006. Such a blondie bear!

UPDATE: I've been sending the kids e-mail on their month birthdays (luniversaries?) since Thea was about nine months old. It occurred to me, finally, that I could include those here in back-dated posts, maybe with appropriate pictures. So, my deepest apologies to Heather and Nina, the two people who read my blog with a feed reader, for the excessive posting in the coming weeks.
