Is it lame that I don't want to blog for choice on my birthday? It's a bummer topic. But an even bigger downer, of course, would be if that choice were taken away by people who don't know me and yet still think they get a vote in my reproduction.
So, I'm pro-choice because I believe in personal freedom and responsibility. I'm pro-choice because I trust women and know that if a woman doesn't want to have a baby, she has very good reasons. I'm pro-choice because a governmental attempt to control women's bodies scares me. And, lastly, I'm pro-choice because I believe that a potential baby is not the same thing as a child, and that it is most definitely not worth more than the life of the woman carrying it.
Okay, now back to the birthday party!

Happy Birthday! I'm only a week late. For what it's worth, a friend/acquaintance had a baby on the 22nd and I went to see her/them briefly in the hospital, where twice I brought up the fact that it was also your birthday, which was probably totally inappropriate and I'm sure she thinks I'm a complete moron, but it was still kind of cool.
Oh, and I completely forgot to comment on your "Blog for Choice" day post - bravo! So reaffirming, and I, for one, really needed that.
Thanks! You're still in the birthday zone, though (a week before and two weeks after).
An acquaintance once asked if I was still pro-choice after having kids. I though it was an odd question. Having a kid is HARD! Why would anyone try to force that experience on someone who didn't actively want it?
