Liam is just four months shy of two years old, and he's starting to really grow and develop.
He knows lots of new words this month, and he's even more adventurous than ever, climbing on everything, grabbing at everything, and running and playing almost non-stop. He especially loves to play with Thea. He watches her intently and wants to do what she does and say what she says. He likes to play kitty cat or doggy, which Thea taught him, and he'll put his hands (paws) up on us so we'll say "Down doggy, no, no, no."
In the last month Liam started sleeping in his toddler bed instead of the crib. He did so well transitioning that we took the crib out of his bedroom within about two weeks. When it's bedtime, we read some stories and then ask him if he's ready to get in bed. He walks over and climbs in, insistently all by himself. He'll usually play for a while, but he almost always falls asleep without having to be picked up again.
His favorite foods haven't changed, but he doesn't eat much at dinnertime anymore, unless we've made a special effort or our skilled friends have cooked. He loves to eat breakfast and lunch, though. In the morning when he wakes up, we bring him into our bed until he says "Dora! Elmo!" and we turn on the TV. After waking up a little more, we go downstairs and he gets very excited (most of the time) for "waffa" or "oamee" (waffles or oatmeal).
After breakfast, he's a blur of activity.

You really should have him diagnosed for YTD, Youthful Tendency Disorder. ALL the Park Slope mommies are getting this done.
"Please, Cameron, don't have a disorder for just a few minutes so I can concentrate." Word.
