Heather's Second Life is more interesting than my real life

I was talking with Heather this morning, as I do every morning. We were recapping our nights. Me: dinner with the fam (Todd cooked), my night to get Liam to sleep, read 30 or so pages from A Million Little Pieces. The usual.

Heather: Got on Second Life to check out the resources for nonprofits. Found out how to build an office, as well as tons of detailed notes on other cool things. While there, was contacted by a friend who has had a Second Life for as long as she has but is way more into it. He teleported her to the house he and his SL boyfriend-now-just-friends, Muu Muu, bought together and are now selling. She said it was quite pretty, on the beach and very modern. While they were on the back patio talking, Muu Muu was a tiny kangaroo jumping around. Heather acknowledged him with "Hello, Muu Muu," at which point he morphed into a large, well-endowed Hispanic man covered in tattoos. Her friend suggested they levitate over the house so she could get a better view, but she went up too high and lost him. By the time he teleported her to the right altitude, she was bored and went back to watching her movie.

I think that pretty well illustrates the gulf between those with kids and those without, don't you?

I've visited Second Life two or three times and can't get the hang of flying. I also get lost. Constantly.

I figure, I have enough trouble getting a handle on my first life .... I need to think twice before launching a second one. :)

I hear you! I wonder if it would be easier if we were more into video games.
