Today is day one of my vacation. Well, it's not exactly a vacation in the strictest sense of the word. More like, I have so much to get done around the house that I took a week off work in an attempt to check everything off my to-do list. It's rather pathetic, really.
I kicked off my "vacation" at a Tori Amos show on Friday. The high point was ditching the kids to hang out with friends. My husband, who rocks in so many ways, banned me from coming home after work, so I got to head into D.C. early for some Kelly time. The low point — and it was low — was almost falling asleep at the show. It was just so warm and dark in the concert hall, and the music was so soothing.
I'm really relating to Heather's Bughouse post today.

have fun around the house and don't forget to add a couple of fun things to your "to do" list. And once they're on the list, you just gotta do 'em, you just gotta!
Oh, your vacation sounds like our's. E.'s last "vacation" was a week of to-do's that never got done (too much xbox and soccer watching).
Glad to see the gals got out for a night of wild concert going. I yawn my way through the most exciting concerts now, too. I'm such a tired old fart. I even caught myself yawning during a Prince (who normally elicits a Beatles girls gone wild reaction in me) concert. I might as well have been knitting a doily and complaining about my bunions at that point. Enjoy your week!
Enough with the Tori Amos posts, you guys! I feel so left out... *sniff*
TORI! I HATE YOU! ARGH!
Ah, the "staycation"! The vacation of the overworked.
If you are going to power through the to-do list, it helps if you turn the music up.
To 11.
Daniel, great idea!
Bloggirls, we should totally plan a night out. Who's with me?
Brent, I love "staycation." Yes, exactly. How freaking sad.
Tori concert? Jealousy here.
that's awesome. I *just* said that I feel behind - on everything - blogging, reading, keeping my kitchen from looking like a petri dish... I'm so jealous of a week off... and don't get me started on Tori Love.
It cracks me up you fell asleep at the show. Freaking cute!
Staycations for everybody!
I even once fell asleep at a Lunachicks show. When I hit the wall, it apparently makes me pass out.
