Andrea, here's the alternative to your cranberry jello shooters, which is also the first step to making the best cranberry chutney ever.
- One pound fresh cranberries
- Sliced and scraped peel of 1/4 orange
- Sliced and scraped peel of 1/2 lemon
- 1 1/2 cups sugar syrup
- 1 1/2 cups vodka
(Once you strain the liqueur, put the cranberries in a saucepan and cook them for about 15 minutes, until they're the right color, kind of dark magenta. At this point they're ready to be made into cranberry relish.)

This sounds great. How much more alcohol or time is needed to make cranberry grappa?
Grappa is a totally different thing that involves distillation. But I like the way you think, lady!
