Todd just found a MOUSE! In the HOUSE! YUUUUUCK!!!
I'm pretty unflappable about most things, but mice give me the serious heebie-jeebies. While I was screeching and hopping around, Thea said that we should get a cat to take care of the problem. I agreed completely. Liam saw an opportunity and said — as long as we're putting in pet requests, I suppose — "I want an elephant!" When I said they were too big to keep in the house, he thought for a moment and replied, "Baby elephant!"

Those glue rat traps work pretty well on mice. Suffocation's no fun, but at least you won't get plague. Mice problems are worst in the winter since they're looking for heat. Come summer, you'll need to plug all the outside holes near the foundation. That's where they're getting in.
Or you could just put a mix of flour, sugar, and powdered cement in a bowl on the floor and leave a dish of water nearby.
Dude, we found one in the bottom drawer of MY NIGHT STAND once. Talk about losing my shit.
Bryan used a mouse trap smeared in peanut butter.
Oooh ick! We had a couple of summers with rats. Yes, rats! One took up residence in my hall closet. And yes, now I have 2 cats!! And a year round service to keep poison baited containers around my house - and I plugged all the holes. Ew! Good luck!
I'm with you--vermin give me the creeps. However, being no fan of cats, I think you should get a black snake. And a baby elephant.
I say, ditch the web job and open a zoo. More fun for everyone!
Did you hear a piano playing when the mouse was running around? Like in the Tom and Jerry Cartoons?
Man,that takes me back to when I was a hello a lot younger,I was in grade school when Mom let out a schreem,a mouse had just come out of a hole in the wall I had to capture it and remove it from the house and dispatch it to mouse heaven.
thea and liam are brilliant. when it comes to scoring additional pets, it's carpe diem baby (elephant)!
We had mice last winter, and our solution was to get a cat. I really sort of hate the cat (I can't believe I just admitted that) but it beats Hantavirus.
I grew up in the country
eeks I feel yr pain!
I had a "date" with a mouse a couple of weeks ago and wrote a post about the same issue...they are wrong!
But I like the idea of a baby elephant. I do recommend a cat...does the trick every time.
You want to borrow Jasper?
i'm thinking of getting a pet chicken. do they eat mice?
baby elephant. hee. My cat sucks at mousing. She sits on them. Maybe.
I like Brent's idea of the snake. Yes, that's what the O house needs, a snake! I'm sold.
We found a small mouse in our rental in downtown Tempe.. the one behind the dairy queen. Anywho, the hubby put a glue trap down and we caught it. I used to have pet hamsters growing up and just loved them.. so seeing the poor mouse in the trap trying to move around -- made me feel super bad. I still think about that poor mouse... I don't know if there is any sort of humane way of getting rid of the little pests... Rats.
