Rebuilding after the storm

The blizzards of February did a massive amount of damage to my yard, but thankfully not to my house. Here you can kind of see a felled tree and trellis that used to frame the walkway to my front door. I loved the way it looked, and I'll admit to shedding a few tears when I saw that it had been taken down.

I had someone cut down the tree that matched the one that fell because, although it wasn't critically wounded, it was damaged beyond repair. We built a new trellis and planted trees.

A few weekends ago, we planted blueberry bushes and put down mulch. (Sorry for the thumb in there.)

Later, we planted herbs and took transplants from last year's garden (pictures to follow soon). It's coming along.

Love it! It takes the scar that those trees left and says things like "look! 'sprouts' or 'buds' or (even) blueberries!!" How awesome is that! So? what's next?

Lovely (and it looks more blizzard-proof than the last one). I think it'll prove a lovely welcoming spot for friends to your home.
