Happy Halloween!

This year, Liam was a vampire (without the teeth, because they were too uncomfortable), and Thea wore the cape from my "Sleeping Beauty" witch costume.

She was going to wear it with devil horns, which was adorable, but they were too hard to keep on for very long. Here she's eating a pumpkin cupcake.

Thea changed her mind about her costume three or four different times before trick-or-treating, but Liam has known he wanted to be a vampire for weeks.

The kids got tons of candy and had a great time. Happy Halloween to all!

Carving pumpkins

The kids and I carved pumpkins last weekend. This was my contribution, much the same as last year:

(Tragically, the squirrels have already eaten most of the vom.)

Here's Thea talking about her pumpkin. It's video because I forgot to switch my iphone back to taking a still photo.

When she says "I carved it," she means "I poked at it a little with a small knife while holding my nose and mouth to protect me from the horrible smell of raw pumpkin; Mommy will finish carving it for me," of course.

Here's Liam and his pumpkin. I love how they both have the same expression.

Happy Halloween, and don't eat too much candy!

Picking apples

We took the kids to Rock Hill Orchard in Mt. Airy with some friends to pick apples. I had no idea apples off the tree were so much better than those from the grocery store. Liam's favorite were the golden delicious; Thea loved the red ones. (How do you tell which apples are which when they're all the same color?)
