My coworker for the morning

Todd and Thea went on a field trip yesterday to New York City. The schedule was a bit brutal; they had to be at the bus at 3:30am, and didn't get home until around the same time on the next day. I was dubious, but Todd thought it would be a great opportunity, since the kids were getting to see the Statue of Liberty and a Broadway play, among other things. (He was totally right. Since they didn't get back until the wee hours of the morning, I took Liam to work with me for the morning. He was adorable, charming, and well behaved, no trouble at all. It wasn't hard to keep him busy while I worked, and at one point we took a walk through the building just to look around. He would skip ahead then back to me, throwing his arm around me or holding my hand for a brief moment, then skipping ahead again. It was an absolute pleasure to be with him. I had to wonder, was I ever that carefree? I don't believe so.
